**Our kilns are rated to Cone 10, but since we've only ever fired them up to Cone 6 so we don't know if they can achieve temperatures higher than that.
How it works
- Just bring in your work during our regular open hours! We'll weigh your pieces, take down your contact info, and collect your payment on the spot.
- We accept credit card or cash payments for drop-off firing service, but please note that we do not have change available for cash payments.
- Once your pieces are fully dry, they'll will go into the first available kiln.
Turnaround time
- We fire our kilns 2-3 times per week, but we cannot guarantee that pieces will be available by any particular date. Factors such as the moisture level of the piece when it was dropped off and its size can affect how quickly it gets loaded into a kiln.
- Please give us two weeks to get your work fired before coming back to pick up. You can swing by during our regular open hours to see if your work has been fired yet.
- If you need to guarantee your work will be fired by a specific date, please check out our full kiln load option below.
Firing an entire kiln load of work
- We are happy to help you arrange a full kiln firing of your work to any temperature, but you must email us first to schedule. Full kilns cannot be loaded on a drop-in basis.
- A full kiln load to any temperature up to Cone 6** currently costs $45.
- This service is only for individuals with past kiln loading experience who are comfortable loading their own work under the supervision of Clay Center staff.
- Full kiln rentals must be scheduled in advance via email. Please do not bring your work to the studio to load a full kiln unless you have a previously scheduled kiln appointment.
